WEEKLY UPDATE ON WESTERN CAUCUS MEMBERS TAKING ACTION FOR RURAL AMERICA

FARM BILL HIGHLIGHTS FROM WESTERN CAUCUS MEMBERS

The Foundation is growing on social media too – especially on Instagram. In my time here, we’ve earned over 730,000 views on Instagram Reels and grown our following almost six times over! More importantly, we’re creating very important conversations surrounding rural issues in the comments sections on our Reels. It’s a lot of fun to see how the Foundation is gaining influence and creating a space for discussion on issues distinctive to western and rural America through highlighting Caucus members.

WESTERN CAUCUS UPDATES

Congressional Western Caucus Chairman Dan Newhouse (WA-04) led the effort for Caucus members to push for an extended public comment period on legislation that would introduce Grizzly Bears to Northern Washington.

Newhouse expresses that constituents of northern Washington have reservations about this introduction – as Grizzly Bears are potential predators to locals. The extended commentary period would give them more of an opportunity to voice their concerns and speak for their region.

Representatives Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05), Cliff Bentz (OR-02), Russ Fulcher (ID-01), Harriet Hageman (WY at-large), and Matt Rosendale joined the Chairman in his effort.
