FEBRUARY BICAMERAL
STAFF POLICY BREAKFAST

The Western Caucus Foundation hosted the February Bicameral Breakfast this morning in conjunction with the Senate and Congressional Western Caucuses.

We would like to thank Theresa from the American Property Casualty Insurance Association (APCIA) for briefing staffers on the Wildfire Mitigation and Management Commission.

WESTERN CAUCUS UPDATES

The United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) recently listed the Wolverine as an Endangered Species, and the Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks submitted a Notice of Intent to Sue.

It may be true that there are only a few hundred Wolverines in America. However, wolverine packs do cross the Trans-Canadian Highway using wildlife overpasses. There are estimated to be more than 9,200 wolverines of the same species in Canada.

The state of Montana is quite upset with this decision, and Senate Western Caucus Chairman Emeritus Sen. Steve Daines (MT) issued a statement you can find below.
