A NEW BLM RULE –
ANOTHER FEDERAL LAND GRAB
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has a new rule, and it’s bad for rural America. The Conservation and Landscape Health final rule will destroy the multiple-use facet of public lands. Now that conservation is an official use of public lands, activities such as grazing, mining, drilling, and even recreation are threatened.
Multiple-use public lands are vital to western economies and recreation. By confusing preservation for conservation, there is no doubt that the West will suffer.

STATEMENT ON ALASKAN ENERGY PRODUCTION RESTRICTIONS
Congressional Western Caucus Chair Rep. Dan Newhouse (WA-04) and member Rep. Mary Peltola (AK-at-large) released statements pertaining to restrictions of energy development in Alaska’s NPR-A.
Rep. Peltola states, “Closing off NPR-A is a huge step back for Alaska, failing to strike a balance between the need for gap oil and natural gas and legitimate environmental concerns, and steamrolling the voices of many Alaska Natives in the decision-making process…”
OP-ED ON EPA’S POTENTIAL EMISSIONS RULE
Western Caucus Vice Chair Rep. Debbie Lesko (AZ-08)’s new op-ed in the Washington Times outlines the severity of a possible new emissions rule from the EPA and what it means for American families. The new rule would require 70% of all cars sold to be electric / zero-emissions by 2032.
The worst part – we don’t have the capability to produce as many electric vehicles in the United States as what would be required by this new rule. Lesko writes, “Even Elon Musk has said that many people believe that “the top ten car companies are going to be Tesla followed by the nine Chinese car companies.””
